BEFORE DENIM, BEFORE CHINOS, THERE WERE GRAYERS
The inspiration behind the name Grayers came about when Peter Georgiou, Grayers founder, a 10-year Ralph Lauren veteran and veritable history buff, was reading about Britain in the 1950’s. At that time, young men switched from wearing three-piece suits to gray flannel trousers, commonly known as Grayers. And the casual menswear movement was born. Grayers was the must-have in every man’s wardrobe, from British society to American prep schools.
Peter saw a gap in the men’s market for a casual men’s clothing collection with impressive quality, great fit and design integrity - all at an incredible value. He was instantly inspired to go back and rewrite the classics in a new way…one style at a time. A great trench in a tightly woven fabric that you can roll up and throw in a weekend bag. A smart, slimmed down version of the classic Aran Isle fisherman’s sweater. Knitted wool jackets that are the perfect alternative to structured blazers.
